Just something to consider when selecting which ecosystem to buy into.
It's actually very unlikely to happen. They will no doubt evolve the product to where a stand alone speaker may one day be obsolete but just because they abandon things like google glass doesnt mean they're going to abandon personal assistants. That really doesnt even make sense. You might as well say they're going to ditch gmail.
