Let's dispense with the myth that Da Coach O is responsible for Aranda being on the staff. He was already here and Alleva made sure he stayed.
Both The Orgeron and Alleva knew that LSU fans would have burned the campus down if they let Aranda leave last year. This was not some stroke of genius by Da Coach O...

I love the people who say CEO success will be tied to how well he recruits and hires coaches. That pretty much sums up any head coach success.

Damn, I guess you did have more.

Ed Orgeron has delivered on his promise to keep defensive coordinator Dave Aranda.

Aranda agreed to a new three-year contract to remain with the Tigers, multiple sources told The Advocate on Monday — a momentous offseason victory for the program’s new full-time coach.

Aranda's new contract is expected to keep him in Baton Rouge instead of with potential other suitors, including Texas.

Aranda, whom former coach Les Miles hired away from Wisconsin last offseason to replace Kevin Steele, was part of a long-term plan Orgeron laid out to Alleva in his interview for the job Friday.

No one said it's a stroke of genius and you could say the AD was the reason an asst coach stayed on with every school. Of course the ad plays a role n hiring staff. But the HC plays a pivotal role obviously and O did with Aranda. What if Aranda didn't value O as a HC. Or didn't like his philosophy? Or him in general. Saying O doesn't get credit for a top DC staying when he could've went anywhere is stupid
