Just how much do you intend to spend on the QB spot?
If Drew Brees leaves after this year (i.e., we don't restructure his deal), the Saints are left with $18,000,000 in dead cap space tied to Brees without him playing for the Saints.

The contract has already voided the last 3 seasons, and, because we're prohibited from using the franchise tag, we need to renegotiate with Brees essentially closer to the open market than ever before.
I'm sure it'll be a sensible deal.
