Any type of surgery is a cause for concern. Nothing wrong with asking. Hamstring surgery is usually 6-12 month recovery time which would explain the redshirting for his freshmen year.

Good point. injuries are always a concern.

I think in a lot of cases, it's relevant to acknowledge that someone "HAD" injuries, which they have overcome and don't seem to have lingering effects.
Lattimore seems like one of these cases.
Sure, there were early issues, but the missed game total is skewed. People are counting his freshman year, which is frankly ridiculous: Ohio State was loaded, they won the national title. He was injured coming in, and obviously not required to come back ASAP in order for the team to acheive it's goal. Could he have come back that season? Maybe, but Urban Meyer never felt the need to rush him (not like Saban burning Blue Gay's redshirt in the Title game); so he took it slow.

Anzalone seems to be getting the same knee-jerk reaction from the ranters. He did come back and play at a very high level, and the original issue didn't resurface. He broke his forearm. Maybe as a pro he'd play in a cast after a couple weeks, but it wasn't smart in college. He seemed to show the scouts what he could do, and that he had returned from the concerning injury, so he called it a day and got prepared for the NFL. He might be a steal if the scouts are right.
