It took about 10 minutes to show up as processing on bitfinex, then a few minutes to process before it was available.
Yeah, took about 10 total for me

So not that I have some iota. Whats the best way to keep it safe from hackers. Bitfinex had a major hack awhile back.

I was more asking how to even get anything into the wallet. All i have is stuff on coinbase. I just bought some BTC on Coinbase....so i can expect that next week. Then i guess I can transfer. I probably went about this the complete wrong way.
Man, frick coinbase. Buy on gdax and transfer to bitfinex. Stop messing with coinbase to do any trading, gdax is the answer
You can have it all done within an hour

Ok. I'm not familiar with that site but i'll give it a look now.

It's owned by coinbase. Just go to the site and hit sign in, it will automatically link you from your coinbase account. Everything you do on there is quick and flows through coinbase and is a lot cheaper

I don't get why anyone would use coinbase unless you were really confident the price would rise significantly over a 5 day period. You can lock in your price, which could save you or kill you, but GDAX is the same price with no fees.

I got logged in no problem. i did a money transfer and it still said 4 business days. Not that much different.

Do a wire transfer, it's same day. Tells you all that
Or if you have btc or eth, or money in you're coinbase account you can transfer from there. Gotta read what it tells you

Depositing cash into your account using a bank transfer takes the same amount of time but the issue is when you go to buy the ETH. When you buy ETH on CB using cash that you've deposited, CB locks up the ETH for a week (and sometimes longer), meaning that if the price goes down, you cannot sell it.
That does not happen on GDAX.

It's a no brainer

log into gdax and click deposit
select coinbase wallet, and source, then deposit funds
Now you have eth in your gdax account. You can sell as much as you want to cash out and then go to the BTC/USD exchange and buy btc with that money. There may be an easier way, but this is how i do it.
Log in to bitfinex
Go back to gdax and click withdraw, paste the address for the wallet you just copied on bitfinex, do two factor authorization, and send and wait about 10-15 minutes for it to show up on bitfinex.

Ah but wouldnt i need BTC to begin with to do the wire transfer?
I only have ETH at the moment and i don't want to touch it. I'll just patiently wait until the bank deposit goes through.

I appreciate the screenshots. I think i did eventually get it figured out and it makes sense. But i dont have any BTC on Coinbase. All i have is ETH and i didn't want to touch it. That's why i was making the bank deposit today so i could use that money instead of touching my ETH wallet.

No. Wire transfer from your bank

Better than waiting four days. It's 10 dollars, think of all the meaningless things you spend 10 dollars on
