re: Weezer or blink 182

- Musical ability/creativity: Weezer, specifically Rivers Cuomo. He ghost writes songs for many artists, a lot of which have gone on to become mega-hits.

Travis is the only real musician in Blink, even by Mark and Tom's own admission.

- Popularity/commercial success: Blink easily

- Originality: I give the nod to Weezer. Blink just took everything NOFX and The Descendents did and added dick jokes. Weezer brought something new and fresh to the table, Blink was just the Fisher Price "My First Punk Band"

All that said, give me Blink any day. Cheshire Cat thru Self-Titled defined my adolescence and high school years. I never cared much for Weezer but I think I came late to the party on them. Every time I hear the intro to Carousel or pop Enema in and that bad arse Dumpweed riff comes blasting out...I can't help but jam out.
