It does have the tacit approval of the governed. And "legalized theft" isn't theft, right off the bat.
If the US government doesn't have your "consent" for any portion of the rights that you have by living here, please opine as to which rights and responsibilities you object to?
I would absolutely love to hear your ideas on possible alternatives.
