For those that didn't catch the last thread, Turkey attacked the YPG/YPJ who are a crucial part of the SDF (Syrian Democratic Forces) who are fighting Daesh (ISIS). They attacked them with airstrikes and with ground assets and destroyed communication assets and attacked supply lines.

The US has responded by moving their boots on the ground in between the Turks and the YPG/YPJ at the border.

Hopefully this should deter Turkey from attacking and it should free up some YPG/YPJ assets so that they can continue their advance to Raqqa. Also, hopefully none of our guys get hurt in the process.

Honest question:
Can anybody tell me what our Middle East policy is?
Is it to defeat ISIS?
If it is, shouldn't we support Assad?

Bump

Here’s one with a handful of post. Nobody defending the Kurds though, overall very little interest
