This board's weird obsession with shite jobs like welding and plumbing is humorous
I've got a masters in tax law and did the law firm gig for several years doing M&A, estate planning, etc. Now I am CFO for a plumbing manufacturers rep. I make a lot more than I did at a law firm, and my schedule is no comparison to working at a law firm. I've been turkey hunting 3 days this week before work, when working at a firm I was lucky to go 3 Saturdays a season. I'm obviously not a plumber, but I definitely see good plumbers who make more money than some I graduated law school with

Plumbers are paid a lot because it is hard and nasty work. If you want to wade in shite in Louisiana heat, you'll probably get paid well.

CFO for plumbing adjacent company =/= being a plumber.
Being a CFO bears being a lawyer any day.

No shite, plumbers and non-BIGLAW lawyers make about the same hourly rate in a lot of markets now.

Same here. Got my llm in tax and was a t&e attorney for a while. Just switched to the financial industry. While my base is the same, my bonus is 30%, and I get a 7% 401k match and 10% profit share. Next year, I start getting shares that will get cashed out each year for 3 years on a continuous basis. No way in hell am I ever going back to a law firm
