If you are on electronic logs,you lose all of it. Your On duty time for the day still clicks away,and will eat into your driving time,you can go off duty, and it stays on your 70,but it still counts against your 14 for the day. On E-logs, as soon as you do your pre trip in the morning your 14 is clicking away,and there is no way to stop it,except to sit for 10 hours.There is a split sleeper thing,but it hurts more than it helps.
