Wtf does that even mean? Is the tub somehow sliding away from your wall? I don't see how that's possible. Maybe it's something that happens over time, but I've never heard of it. I'd want to know why it's "separating from the wall." You should caulk it either way because you don't want water getting under your tub. As for the type of caulk, just go to lowes or HD and get tub and tile caulk. It usually comes in clear or white.
