1. they hire writers as on air talent...anyone with a brain knows that's a disaster waiting to happen.

Wait, what?

ESPN quite literally revolutionized day time sports network programming for the last 15 years by hiring writers as on air talent(PTI)

wooow. daytime sports network programming...that sounds really competitive. revolutionized as opposed to who and what?

PTi gets a million viewers. that's a nice hit, but it's late afternoon tv, and there's nothing revolutionary about the debate format. CNN was there first. for cold pizza, starring the only other 2 writers that worked out for them, it was the same hook only they added the subtext of racial conflict.

here's who watches daytime sports tv...college kids, people with odd working hours and unemployed people. I don't know anyone with a job worth a shite that watches ESPN.

now as far as how good those people are on tv, put out the full list of writers they've hired over 15 years as on air talent, and we'll stack the wilbons against the jackie mcwhatevers and time cowlishaws? and jay mariotis and woody paiges and who was that other fat bald guy from the herald.

it's bad tv.
