Using the aggregate of historical rankings historians and political sciences, they have quite a different story. But, just using your list, with overall rank denoted.
1. Johnson (12th): Almost universally in the low double digits, with a few top 10's in past 20 years.
My Take: Probably the best in your lifetime. Lots of incredible wins that still stand today. His only big frickup totally taints peoples view about him (vietnam). But tons of wins and major advancements. Surprisingly, only had 2 SCOTUS, Abe Fortas & Thurgood Marshall, so really only 1.
2. Obama (15th): Still way early to accurately place, but limited opinion so far has him in the teens, with none lower than 18th.
Leading out of the Great Recession is his shining moment, with ACA as a good 2nd. Holding him back were certain foreign policy positions. Did have Bin Laden and Cuba though. Still way early to analyze thoroughly.
3. Reagan (17th): Actually one of the more volatile rankers. Varies from 6th to 26th. Early numbers from the 90's drag him down.
Gets too much credit in my opinion. Had some horrid foreign policy. AIDS and War on Drugs were total failures. Don't know how myth of his economic policy got started, but his economy was more of happenstance than his policy...as some of his key theoretical basis have been disproven. Best overlooked aspect though, definitely SCOTUS (minus bork): O'Connor, Rehnquist to chief justice, Scalia, Kennedy
4. Slick Willy (20th): similarly to Reagan, early numbers drag him down. Didn't make any egregious mistakes. Brady Bill and NAFTA were big. Economic prosperity, but did open door to Great Recession.
5. HW (22nd): Didn't get as many wins as he could have. He was left with some of the mess Reagan gave him...which turned out to be his downfall. Kinda weird how people don't remember that part. Big piece of NAFTA. Surprisingly competent president who I think is too low.
6. Ford (26th): getting to the "not good" section. Reasons why he wasn't memorable.
7. Carter (27th):Weird how the Iran hostage crisis gets pinned on him, when Reagan was backdoor undermining him. One termers often get more blame than is warranted.
8. Nixon (32nd): Lots of bad. Even getting the coattails of the objectively very good Kennedy-Johnson admins, he sucked. Lots of poor decisions, domestic and foreign.
9. W (34th): Medicare Part D is about the only surviving win. highlights include: Iraq, 9/11, No child left behind, etc.
You do you though.

5thTiger, based on your post history and your ranking, you appear to be an economist who favors dramatic and extensive state intervention in the economy. Great society, ACA, etc.

I also find it interesting that you downplay the presidents who oversaw economic recoveries without extensive keynesian policy (Reagan and Clinton), and you hype up Obama and Johnson.
Your ranking seems to be a bit biased in favor of leftist economic policy. Which is fine, just surprises me because john Kasich is nowhere close to Johnson.
