It isn't a large contract. It's around the same amount of money as the Patriots are paying Rex Burkhead and Mike Gillislee. It's going to be about the 25th ranked contract by average annual value for an NFL rb. It is a perfectly reasonable low risk type of contract to give someone like Peterson. Stop being ridiculous and get your head out of your arse. You can't be thinking this through and are just criticizing to criticize to act like a $3m contract is some huge deal in NFL terms.

For perspective, Burkhead and Gillislee got higher salaries for a Pats RB in a decade
Btw I'm not saying it's a bad contract or anything really, there not enough real info yet and he hasn't even signed it yet. I was just suprised it was that high given how quiet his market was
