Exactly, and to that other point, good free throw shooters will still initiate contact on 3pt attempts regardless if it's only 2 free throws vs 3

For sure, but they wouldn't be rewarded as much for it.

I think it would create more situations where guys use the shot fake and then drive to the goal, instead of jumping into the airborne defender and initiating contact. Could create the opportunity for an open driving lane for them to finish, or draw a help defender and drop it off to a teammate for an easy dunk. Dunks are a higher ppws than two free throws

Honestly, unless I'm not considering something, it wouldn't be all that bad.
