I'm in the market for a new Scotty Cameron, and I'm sold on a mallet head. I can obtain this in the new Newport 3 putter. What I want to know is how does the Newport 3 differ from the GoLo 3 putters?
I ask, because wouldn't mind paying a little less for a new... older model putter.
Whatcha know baws?

I hear they are all hand made, but you have to let him sleep with your wife to find the right fit

Bettinardi putters > scotty cameron
All Scotty Cameron is, is good marketing.
Go to a golf shop and try a few out for a couple of hours.

It's the same putter per the specs. Discontinued then rebranded with a new look.

The new Newport line might be the best putting products released by Scotty Cameron and Titleist. The feel is great, especially if your primary courses have fast greens.
There are some differences:
- The GoLo3 will have 1/2 inch offset
- Newport 3 is a full shaft offset
- GoLo3 comes with the pistolero grip - which is very nice
- Newport 3 comes with the new style matador grips
- I am not sure about the GoLo3 but with the Newport3 the largest stock weight you can get is 20 gram, which knocks you out for the copper style weights
- I believe the Newport3 has a few more custom build options
- neither come in left had models
- both putters look great at address
my only counsel - purchase from a pro - there are so many fakes and frauds on ebay, etc. pay a little more and know you are getting an original....and wont be disappointed when you send the putter in for customization work
edit - just checked the SC custom page - you can order up to 30g weights for both putters - which is a very nice option.
During my research I used the custom page a good bit to research different models - Cameron's Custom Page
go and try every model and brand putter you can - I play with a guy that shoots in the low 70s every round and uses a Matzie Velvet Touch Putter - just depends on what you like

The putter that everyone in the industry claims is the best is no good if you don't like how it feels when you use it.
I get my best results from an old blade putter. Just feels right.

Seriously, like someone else said go try putters until you find whatever you like best. Scotty's are good putters, but don't drop $350 on it just because it's a Scotty. I know quite a few very accomplished golfers (college and pro guys) that used to use them and have started using other stuff. One uses a Wilson blade from the late 80's.

I know it's not what you asked but try a Rife putter before you purchase. I won one as a door prize at an AU alumni golf tourny a few years ago and I don't think I will ever take it out of my bag. I had never heard of or tried a Rife before but I absolutely love it

I bought a golo about a year ago after never having a putter I was confident in. I love the golo. Have the counter weight one and it's just perfect for me. Not planning on getting a new putter for a very long time.

lol, you can either putt or you can't. Just because some P.T. Barnum disciple jabroni put his name on it and told you how it was made with love doesn't mean it's any better than the one you pick up at the local mini golf outfit.
