It's terrible how stricken people are with bias they can't even recognize good qualities in the other side.
Warning, semi off topic rant:
I found good qualities in Obama as a person, but he squandered those abilities during his term, and now we're left with worse race relations. I had high hopes when he was first elected (policy aside) that he would bring together people of different color and maybe even help black communities address cultural issues that have plagued them for a long while and actually start improving their lot in life. But he failed on that front miserably. If he would have addressed that one issue and improved race relations/the lives of those in inner city black communities, I would have given him a positive grade regardless of everything else. But he flopped dramatically on the one issue he had the most potential to fix. For that, he is a failure to the highest degree.
