While I don't think we need a full time coach to just coach kickers, it's much harder than "kick it through the goalposts." There is a lot of technique involved between placement of plant foot, hip and shoulder movement, leg motion and follow through.

Are there offseason camps for kickers similar to the Clarkson or Gruden QB camps? It seems like it would be a good investment since a kicker's mechanics and psychology are such specialized areas.

Exactly. Most, if not all, of NFL teams don't even have a full time "kicking coach."
