i let my kids play video games (well my son is only interested in them) but I also take him out fishing and hunting and play basketball/throw the football/baseball with him outside all the time.

I have twin 5 year old boys, and it's tough...once they started playing video games, basically everything else became 10 times less fun, and that's all they want to do, and they're on a time limit so they don't play it any time they want. They basically get 20-30 minutes(basically while I make dinner) right when they get home from school, and after that it's dinner then we go outside, weather pending.

But they ask about it constantly. Probably once a month we'll go 3 days with no video games just because that's all they whine about, so i take it away...that doesn't help, they still whine about it every day.

The only time they get to play a lot is weekend mornings. They wake up at 7am, and I ain't getting up till 9am, so they get their fill of video games every Sat/Sun morning.
