Can care less about if someone is gay or straight, it just seemed like a high percentage which would bolster the OP's premise that it was a PC show.
Without going into spoilers, I think they handled one of the gay storylines pretty perfectly.

Besides showing gay people just existing, the big LGBT thing they did was someone pretending to not be gay and screw someone else over for it. If you got gay agenda out of that, you are just scared that gays exist in the world.
They did push bullying in schools, but that's the entire premise of the show.
The parents were suing the schools because they were grieving and were reaching for fault. However, through this process they actually discovered the school did do wrong by the guidance counselor's frick up.
