Absolutely. Getting shithoused and driving is inconsiderate and dangerous, but I'll be damned if drinking a beer or two an hour during a road trip doesn't improve things tremendously.

Agreed. The question wasn't about the outcome of said drinking.
If it was legal, having a few beers on a long trip would absolutely be more fun.
Same with rock climbing.
And video games.
Sex with a hot chick? Yup. I need to be relaxed and smooth.
