These are net average rankings of the punter of the Super Bowl Champions since 2009. Literally every year, the super bowl champion punter was ranked LOWER and sometimes Much lower than where Thomas Morestead ranked for our team that season.
2016 Pats 7th
2015 Broncos 21st
2014 Pats 12th
2013 Seahawks 19th
2012 Ravens 8th
2011 Giants 15th
2010 Packers 18th
2009 Saints 29th
There is literally zero evidence that the punting game is worth spending ANY of your valuable resources on. It's a fricking garbage waste of cap when millions are critical in the depth of other certain positions.
