Wanted to give an update, current setup is a Tablo DVR, Apple TV and Sony Vue ($35)
Second round of cutting the cord, this time I think it will stick.
Very pleased with the Tablo. I have DVR'ed a few things and it works as well as a cable DVR. The 5 seconds or so for the channel to stream is not a big deal. Once you accept that is the way it is it's not bad. The channel menu is great too.
Sony Vue is rock solid, have had only a few freezes. Channel lineup for the $35 level is almost perfect. Part of my issue was always getting the channels I wanted without paying for premium cable. Menu is not bad, actually pretty good. Wish there was a way to get detail on a show without drilling through the menus. Saving shows, DVR, works well. Not as much OnDemand content as Diectv Now but I think the app login is probably better than any other service to get on demand.
For me this is near the perfect setup. Wish we had more competition for ISP service.

If you have Vue, what do you use Tablo for? Vue give you ABC/CBS/NBC/Fox but not local, correct?
Also, another Vue question...are you able to record shows across all platforms? Meaning, I assume you can record shows from the PS4 or the Apple TV since you said it has the better interface. I didn't spend too much time on the Roku interface for Vue but the little time I did spend, I did not notice a feature where you could record or watch recorded shows.
