The F-22 and the F-35 are totally different concepts. F-22 had one sole purpose in mind for one operator. The USAF. It was bred to be a 100% interceptor/killer of other aircraft.
The F-35 was meant to be a jack of all trades, so to speak quarterback of every other plane in the airwing. Even once it has used up all of its weapons it will continue to relay instruction to multiple other planes to carry out objectives as long as it can loiter. Basically an AWAC with weapons.
I still like the F-15, and F-22 for their basic killer role.
