China didn't deploy 150K troops to the border and if they did it wouldn't have been to help us. China, while maybe not an "enemy", is at the very least a geopolitical competitor. They aren't out to help us and we aren't out to help them and Trump isn't going to change that. Anyone who thinks so is a fool. China's goal is to become a superpower and their first step is to push us out of the region.

Yes they have.

By Hong Soon-do, Beijing correspondent, AsiaToday – The Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) is on the alert as the situation on the Korean peninsula is showing signs of unforeseeable tension. As a result, 150,000 soldiers have gathered on the North Korean border near the Yalu and Tumen rivers since April 7.

Ok. So being a competitor is very different than an enemy. Did I say different?

but by allowing the US to possibly fix the NK situation, China looks bad on 2 sides

first, they showed the world that they are not a power because they couldn't even corral their "little brother" and the US had to

second, they showed the world they were so weak that they had to let the US come in and take care of NK, so they don't even have the power to fix tehir own mistakes

it's much more strategic to work with the US to maintain our good relationship and also to avoid the tarnish o fbumbling the NK situation entirely and looking terrible on the world stage
