I like Romo, but considering how the game has changed, many of the potential HOFers of this era are going to have better stats than the QBs already in Canton.

His statistical comps need to weigh favorably against his peers, not guys who played in previous decades. Romo was a 2nd-team All-Pro once.

Just like receivers.

Both QB and WR have to be held to a FAR HIGHER standard than 70's or 80's or even 90's QBs.

By far the the most difficult decade: the Dead Ball Era...the 1970's (when defenses could do anything short of murder.)

70's - lowest standard
80's - higher standard
90's - higher higher standard

2000's - laughably high standard
