Who is responsible for maintaining the waterway? That's the entity you have a claim against, if anyone.

The Amite is navigable, and thus property of the state of Louisiana. However, as a navigable waterway, the Army Corps of Engineers is responsible for maintaining its suitibility for navigation, BUT the Army Corps of Engineers is all but immune to law suits per federal statutes.

Basically, he's SOOL.

Another flood event, even half the size of last years, would put Louisiana residents in a tail spin.

Many received FEMA money, they cant get it again, forced to carry flood insurance. I'm sure insurance wont give much and premiums would skyrocket.

Wonder how much more per month are people paying for flood insurance?

Pay construction costs, plus loan repayments, and flood insurance has to be causing some troubles financially.
