That's a good question, It'll be interesting to see how they make this work. Rumor is Tom Cruise's character will turn out to be Van Helsing.

The original plan, when this series was supposed to start with Dracula Untold, was to have some evil wizard or scientist or whatever create some big. bad monster that the other monsters would have to team up to fight. I believe they somewhat planted this seed during Dracula Untold. Since that movie is no longer part of this universe I would guess those plans have changed.
