TaxingAuthority has already destroyed that argument in this thread. Go back and read. We spend pretty much the same per person until age 60. That's when we start paying more.

I have no idea how much long term care costs so I can only compare what I have.

But I do agree that we spend a ton of money in ICUs in cases where care is futile, but who can make those decisions that we will stop caring for them? Will we start having more Death Panels that everyone was scared Obamacare would bring about?
