We all were for a good while. A spread quarterback in a Les Miles offense is like putting a Yugo motor in a 'Vette.
Now, it would have helped if Brandon could have completed the simple throws he often threw 6 feet over his intended target's head. That may have been attributed to the mind-frick that Les did on his quarterbacks.
I wish him well.

I never understood why he would recruit qbs and ask them to do things they've never done. Take snaps under center, call plays in a huddle, read a defense while taking 3/5/7 step drops, throw wrs open.

So stay and compete in the spring.
Did you miss the part about him saying that Orgeron said the QB competition would be wide open and that was not true. That he was not getting the chance to do that, compete for the job, that they had made their mind up I guess on Etling and he was the one getting most of the reps. I mean if the writings on the wall, the writings on the wall. I would move on to, I felt he should have got opportunities last season now that the offense was being run a lil bit more wide open under Ensminger, but Orgeron would never send him in and I kept wondering why.

Yea the handwriting was on the wall by the time O took over. Harris could not play QB in the SEC.

Harris is absolutely 100% correct about Orgeron not giving him the chance to get back on the field.
There are 2 sides to some stories and plenty of pine riding reasons Brandon could've created himself.
No sauces, but possible deterrents could've been DGAF attitude, not hitting targets in practice, divisive with players, or even lost Team Vote for QB, etc, etc.

It was a game they finally let him fling it with trust and his best game because Miles was so far down

yes, there are two sides to every story and as for this story who knows, but if he felt Orgeron wasn't giving him the chance to compete for the job then it was best he move on. I wish him well.

This is wrong. If he wanted a shot he would have taken it rather then quitting. He still goes to class at LSU till June. Participating in spring football wouldn't change his transfer status at all.

I'm surprised with a new o cord. he decided to quit rather than at least take part in spring ball. From the article, it sounds like Fedora promised him the starting job. I think Harris wants things handed to him and doesn't want to put in the work. I'm basing this off his choice to quit and stories that he didn't put in the work necessary in the film room.

I think that is the kind of offense that is best for Harris, a offense that will allow him to pass a lot and to get in some type of rhythm where he is lighting it up. Some kind of wide open almost playground type of offense, and I thin that's what Fedora is promising him.

How do you know what is wrong and what is right?? You don't, you're just guessing. If Harris is saying that this is what happened, I think he would know since he's the person that's going through this, right. You haven't a clue and I'm taking Harris' word as to what happened. I don't think the kid quit, that's bullshite, if they made up their mind to go with Etling, then that's that.

Except we aren't even half way through spring and that decision hasn't been made yet. Who knows, maybe he could have impressed Canada in Spring and won the job back.

That's funny, because I had the opposite thought. Before reading the interview I thought maybe he didn't have it between the ears and that he was selfish for leaving.

Now, I think he's a very intelligent thoughtful young man who spoke of life lessons and wanting to go where he's a better fit, with respect for LSU.

I didn't detect any bitterness, just his disappointment that it didn't work out.

Then you need to work on your reading comprehension skills.

You are right in the sense that it is odd to outsiders as fans that he did not get to play in the games that you mentions.

But, have we been at practice?
Did he earn the right to play?
Has he taken ownership of his flaws.

That article sounded like a politician.

Try to stay in the middle.
Say you like people but then blame them.

We all know Miles did not change/adapt and deserved to be fired.

When Brandon says that he believes that Canada is changing the offense but still does not believe the competition would have been open sounds odd.

My honest opinion.
Brandon should have went to a spread offense to begin with.
Miles did not change.

Brandon will probably be better off somewhere else.

LSU is better off with both Miles and Brandon Harris being gone.

I think Harris does good next year at North Carolina. Offense will give him a chance to get into a rhythm.

Maybe, but I recall a game in '15 where 50+ att didn't get him in rythm, after 35 or so att in the previous losing effort.
Possibly the difference will be spread half field coverage reads instead of progressions, and I guess we'll see when/if he gets UNC start.

Lest anyone forgets how he exited the field after the game vs Jacksonville St when he was benched:

old article that shows he has flip flopped on what happened
they were never going to change the offense.

quote:

Harris said he is accepting the coaching from Cameron this season better than last season because he took a step back and remembered why he came to LSU in the first place – for that Cameron playbook Cameron kept throwing at him and to be at LSU. Harris is catching on better now. “I realized one of the reasons I came here was because I thought Coach Cam had a great scheme,” Harris said. “I wanted to come here because I’m an in-state kid. You know, there’s nothing better than being a Louisiana kid and being able to come play quarterback at Louisiana State University. My goals are to one day set myself up where I can play in the NFL.”

LINK

can't find the one where he said he wanted to be more than a spread guy but its out there.
