I actually didn't see it this way at all. When they found her I realized I should've known all along she was in there, but as a parent I guess I was holding out hope they would find her unharmed. It impacted me more that it was drawn out.

How it was presented it was like they had periods where they forgot about her while still supposedly it.being part of the central plot that they are looking for her, imo.
