He's always been outspoken. That's not the issues.
They may not want to pay a 30 year old CB $15M+ plus. Rather not lose him for nothing, so now is the time to inquire about a trade. This is age related.

Sherman has improved every year, under different coordinators that run slightly different systems within their cover 3 shell. The reason he can play man coverage which is actually easier for cornerbacks is because Earl Thomas can cover the entire middle of the field
