this is what I would do. Owning my own assets would be a game changer, but trucks and trailers are not cheap.

Make sure you find some good guys because for the first few years you're going to need good, honest, and reliable employees/subs if you're going to make it work.

my dad got out of the business 30 years ago and decided to become a 3PL instead. He owned tons of trucks and trailers. It took one wreck that shut down the interstate in Bama on labor day weekend and 10 year lawsuit for him to sell all the trucks and trailers and go into 3PL

With today's industry and regulations and insurance prices, its a uphill battle

I would love to start my own trucking company as well
