This is a great example of what annoys me about political discourse these days. I'm no fan of Chelsea Clinton obviously but the fake derisiveness to her tweet about asking if the Abraham Lincoln in a MAGA hat was Photoshopped is absurd.

So many on the right are pretending that Chelsea didn't know that Lincoln never wore a MAGA hat. So dumb - she clearly meant she hoped that the 2017 GOP FL event wasn't actually using that image as their logo and programme cover.

It's shite like this that makes it difficult to have an adult conversation. The left did it constantly with Trump (ex: when he JOKINGLy asked Russia to "please hack Hillary's 33,000 emails and the femmes in MSM needed fainting couches).

Sick of it.

My problem with Chelsea Clinton is that she's a totally overrated (by the Left) glob of nothingness who only has a "voice" because of who her Dad is. She and Ivanka made a pact not to attack the other person's parent/presidential candidate during the election.

Guess which one broke their promise?

I thought that was obvious. And I get some playful joking knowing what she meant, but it's ridiculous to think she meant "did Lincoln really wear that hat?"

I read it as a funny interpretation of her shock and outrage of a MAGA hat picture...its not some unforgivable offense like drawing Mohammed.

Anywho, internet trolls are going to internet troll and find their lulz. Not a big deal either way, IMO. This doesn't seem like the hill to die on for internet decency or discourse, or whatever. Chelsea is an empty suit, not really a big deal if she generates a few laughs from her inane statement being taken out of context.

I'm with you on this - as much as I viscerally hate HRC and almost all other DEM leadership, I have come to their defense many times when this kind of shite was pumped.

I do NOT want my conservative leaning associates acting like the people I really hate.

It is OK to make a joke about it - but to try and carry the issue further than that is misguided and dilutes whatever credibility one has mustered.

A horse is a horse, of course, of course,
And no one cares to talk to a horse of course
Unless it's a liberal, of course, and unless the horse is the infamous Chelsea Clinton

She has a bad habit of putting her mouth where she has no business.

Who cares what her opinion is, she's just s puppet controlled by the Clinton interests.

Then say what you mean, is that hard? Don't leave it open for interpretation.

I think Chelsea is very intelligent but I think that she isn't great with communication.
Maybe Hillary and Chelsea are slightly autistic? It would explain why Hillary wasn't able to really connect with voters.

It was a poor attempt at a joke on her part.

Indeed.

Of course, her feigned outrage at a playful image is also about as juvenile as it comes. It all speaks to the many layers of stupid coating our political discourse.

Oh frick you. Liberals nitpick about every utterance of their political opposition.

about fricking time they get the same treatment

and you don't know what you say is true.

It is only "obviously" what you assume.

NO ONE thought she thought that was an irl pic of Lincoln

She was being called dumb because she was trying to make an issue out of an obvious Photoshop

"Oh please let this be true, so I can make something of it"

All she had to do was a minutes worth of research, and not attempt to push a narrative, that everyone knew didn't exist. Sorta fake newsish, amirite?
