Now that's an idea I could get behind; however, if you told me it didn't do a damned thing more than a quality oil filter then I wouldn't be surprised.

It wouldn't do enough to guarantee the engine would last longer certainly. Good oil filters are enough and I think a high quality air filter is more important in stopping abrasive particles from getting into the engine that what the oil filter does afterwards.
