I still couldn't put that above Wahlberg, the boogie nights character puts it over the top imo

McQueen, Ford, Newman have already been mentioned. Deservedly so.
I'll add:
James Dean (Rebel w/out a Cause)
Eastwood (I may have missed)
Redford (for, at least, his co-roles w/ Newman)
Let's debate:
Slater (Pump Up The Volume, True Romance)
Oldman (also True Romance, Leon, etc)
Walken
River Phoenix (was destined to be the man)
Keitel (Mr. Wolf, Bad Lt., Mr. White)
Ok, I can understand, just saying:
Sly (he's Rocky and Rambo!)
Eddie Murphy (Foley and 48 HRs)

LOL at Adrian Greniers history
Do we even need to list David Duchovny's list in Californication or should we just save the internet for everyone else.
Dude had a list

Keanu Reeves has racked up some pretty cool roles:
- Ted, Johnny Utah, the guy from Speed, Neo, Shane Falco, and most awesome - John Wick
Don't forget Babes in Toyland!

Not on a scale of Eastwood or Newman but this guy had some cool roles.

Sounds like a new thread challenge: best roll call for movie/TV characters

Dennis Quaid is always cool as ice in the roles he plays.

I was gonna say Val Kilmer as well. Jim Morrison, Doc Holliday, Iceman, etc.

Connery also played Juan Sanchez Villa-Lobos Ramirez in Highlander (1986) and got to say this line: "I am Juan Sánchez Villalobos Ramírez, Chief metallurgist to King Charles V of Spain. And I'm at your service."
But the best Connery character name is Mulai Ahmed Mohammed el Raisuli the Magnificent, Lord of the Rif, Sultan to the Berbers in The Wind and the Lion (1975) and he got to say this line: "I am Mulay Ahmed Mohammed Raisuli the magnificent, sherif of the Riffian Berbers. I am the true defender of the faithful and the blood of the Prophet runs in me and I am but a servant of His will."
Even if you don't like Muslims, you have to be a little jealous.

Paul Newman. The Hustler/Color of Money, Cool Hand Luke, Butch Cassidy, the guy from the Sting, Reggie from Slapshot and the old guy in The Road To Perdition. I won't mention The Hudson Hornet
Judge Roy Bean was a pretty cool role too.
He was very cool as Gallagher when he got the FBI, A federal prosecutor, a district attorney and a newspaper in Absence of Malice.
He got to have a stripper girlfriend in Blaze when he played Louisiana's own Earl K. Long.

DiCaprio, without question
Get to frick a rich red head in your final days.
Wall Street badass
A hunter/trapper in the 1800s
Super rich playboy in the roaring 20s
Can enter people's dreams
Mental patient on a "haunted" secluded island

quote:This is the correct answer. And what's amazing (and might not be realized by younger people), is that nobody knew who the hell Ford was at the time.
Nobody tops Harrison Ford.
Indy and Han Solo? /thread
Heck, even when there were spoofs and such made, the actors in those films were more name-brand than Harrison was.
