I'm not implying this to Coach Thompson, but to ya'll stating money is the reason why. It may be to you, but to believe this is strictly about money is foolish if not completely outlandish.

I just gave multiple more reasons why, in his current state as head coach, it would be more lucrative in the long run for him to be a head coach and build something great.

Coach Shows never did this; Coach McCarty hasn't done this; Coach Robicheaux is the only big-time coach I know of that has done this at a school that is highly successful: he did it after they won their state championship against West Monroe and came back 2-3 years afterwards.

It is still strange. There is more to the story, but as I said it doesn't have to be nefarious whatsoever.
