the last study done by EBR firms found the northern loop going through EBR was the most logical, and now a WBR-sponsored study finds that a bridge in WBR is the most logical.

I think the OP is saying that a Iberville-sponsored study found that Iberville was the best place to put a loop/bridge, but I get what you are saying. This is one of the biggest problems why nothing gets done in this fricking state. Every local mayor, rep, etc. all has their hand out and becomes an obstructionist when they don't get their way. It's why he have a new fricking $400 million dollar bridge in the middle of nowhere (Audubon bridge) while I-10 continues becoming an even bigger mess

This bridge causes problems for the I10 bridge. Everyone is skeptical and can use that disaster as an example of putting a bridge in the wrong place.

I have a feeling this bridge fight will last another 10 years.

And slightly off topic, but this is also why we may never see a NO to BR rail connection. Plan is drawn up, middle of nowhere town/parish doesn't get a station, they bitch and complain enough to either kill the project, or even worse, they get a station that adds 20 minutes to the ride that 23 people use a day.

This is why most states have Regional Transit Authorities that can tell these small town mayors to get fricked.
