Again. We know that communications between those associates were intercepted.

Why do they keep asking questions, that we know the answer to, and pretending they are some unique gotcha questions instead?

You seem a reasonable fellow. So let's discuss

I was a criminal investigator in the Army, rose to the rank of Lt Col, I was up for another promotion but retired , not wanting to deal with the politics of higher rank.

Anyway, I tell you that to establish my knowledge of how investigations work.

First of all, a FISA warrant wouldn't be required to spy on the Russian Ambassador, he can be wiretapped , and eavesdropped on at will, without any warrant because the Russian Embassy is in effect foreign land and so our Constitution and laws don't apply there.

So, we start with the premise that Flynn , and possibly others were caught on that surveillance talking to the Russian Ambassador, and perhaps other Russians.

That alone simply is not enough to begin an investigation into anything. It is NOT illegal to talk to Russians.

So, we know an investigation was started, so we must either assume that the FBI had other evidence to suggest an investigation was appropriate , or we must assume that it is purely a political hit job.

In EITHER case, I can tell you for fact that if you are investigating someone for a possible criminal conspiracy with a foreign government you are going to do a few things. You ARE going to get warrants to surveil their phones, emails, and texts. You ARE going to have them watched. You ARE going to get warrants to look into their bank records, you ARE going to get warrants to look at their computer systems.

If none of this was done, what the hell kinda investigation is Comey running over there?

what if the context of said calls were enough to initiate an investigation? If the calls were so innocent then why did Flynn and the WH lie about it?
