You can pick up a 2012 Carrera S 991 (current body--sort of...2017 is called a 991.2--many changes, but not enough to rename the body style), with 40-50k miles for $35-45k.
In 10 years or so from now, they should see the same inflation you are seeing with the air cooled motors as this is was the first year (2012) of the 991, which saw a total redesign and a wheelbase that grew by 4" and an overall length grow by 2". This moved the motor away from the rear a tad thus helping with the "arse heavy" issue that has plagued Porsche on the track for a time.

As stated earlier, 2016 models are the last of the naturally aspirated flat 6 motors.
