do you let your 9 year old watch Pirates of the Caribbean in which Jack regularly makes "under the radar" sex/booze jokes and references to hookers? Just trying to see where your line is.

He's ok with sexually objectifying women, abuse of women, and sex as long as it's heterosexual. He also has a problem with people saying "curse words" even though there is nothing in the Bible that says anything about "thou shalt not use the words shite, damn, arse, or frick".

In all likelihood, he is a closeted homosexual who is also a super religious Jesus freak and because this stupid book of mythology says some very vague passages that people believe to be in reference to homosexuality, he has become a self loathing hypocrite who is damaging his kids far more than if he was just beating the shite out of them on a daily basis.

Depends on the movie. Like I said with this film, if it has raised a red flag due to certain content I will either watch it first or we will watch it together at home when it comes out on DVD.

You are also describing behaviors that are not under a push to be considered normal by everyone. Literally no one says drinking excessively is a good behavior that should be considered normal in society and accepted. Prostitution is also abhorred by society.

Surely you can see the difference between these things and the current way gay activities are being pushed. The different reactions to these activities by society at large call for different reactions from me when deciding what to expose my children to.

It's amazing to me how many folks on this board think parenting decisions such as what media your children are consuming (this is a huge decision) can be summed up in one-size-fits-all statements.
