Seems like the loss of Andy is showing a little bit right now.

And the above poster is right, before the "rally possum" stuff, this team was pretty average. I still think we can correct some things, but I doubt we'll be a national seed this year.

We are lucky to play in the SEC where these ugly midweek games can be made up for. But what's ironic is people ignore the real issue I see. These kids at the plate aren't hitting.

Now on the one hand these mid week games aren't as impactful as our conference season will be. But on the other, we will see a huge step up in the quality of arms we face in the SEC. So anyone who acts like things are just peachy or that this is perfectly normal needs to take the blinders off.

For those who keep mentioning this lineup being similar to last year's, you can't excuse a lack of improvement after a full offseason of summer league play and instruction, fall baseball, scrimmages and strength and conditioning on these kids being the same kids as last year. That's just silly.

Finally, I'd mention the biggest feather in the cap of the true believers in our head coach: Regular Season Record. With 5 losses in mid week/non-con already, this appears to be one of the lesser regular season records Paul's in position to guide a team to. To act like this isn't an obvious issue to an extent is sticking your head in the sand.

Our sticks are being shackled by mid week Southland Conference and also-ran type arms. It's an issue and folks should just get over themselves, stop white knighting and realize that admitting that doesn't mean they don't want to fire the coach or are crappy fans.
