It's baseball, idiot. shite happens. If the best batters get one hit out of three tries, there will always be hot and cold streaks, for individual batters and whole teams. Gamblers call it variance. It takes at least a season to even out.
They "deserve" to win when they play well and "deserve" to lose when they don't. But NO team wins all the games it should or loses all the games it should because the same applies to the other team. If both play well, one still loses. If both play poorly, one still wins.
And don't make some idiotic claim that they couldn't have played well if they didn't get timely hits. Great at bats can still be outs. Great swings can hit the ball right at someone.
