She will do what the NYT did today. She will completely ignore the non-story of his taxes and focus on his past claims that he wants to abolish the AMT. NYT did an article today saying that if it weren't for AMT, Trump would have only paid a couple million. 
But, really there's no way for her to make a clean exit from this mess. Even her liberal colleagues were talking shite on twitter last night.

I bet she had a big spike in viewers last night. People with Trump Derangement Syndrome tuned in. She left them with blue balls.
I don't expect any repercussions. This was Geraldo, not Dan Rather, and her core audience isn't going to care. Nobody other than hardcore Democrats took her seriously in the first place, and they'll keep watching for affirmation of their beliefs.
