I was watching a local tv program (Informed Sources) and it was stated by a panelist named David Hammer (WWL reporter) that Jindal cut out a 2 million dollar contract with a company that recovered Medicaid money. The money lost as a result is currently estimated at 42 million dollars. The state is attempting to recoup some of that money but it looks daunting.
An example he gave was if an auto accident occurs and before liability is determined, Medicaid pays for services in some instances. Once liability is established, if an insurance company is financially responsible, they repay the states Medicaid funding. This was overseen by the Department of Health and Hospitals (Jindal's supposed area of expertise).
This is a big chunk of change. Before someone posts the comment "Fake News", is anyone here more informed than the "Informed Source"? This seems like pretty poor oversight.
