Greg is an awesome instructor and even better person. The gist of what he's saying is spot on, especially re: firearms purchases.
I have over 20 years experience in combat arms and law enforcement, but I've fallen victim to the same issues...going with the masses instead of what actually works for me. Case in point, I've always carried Glocks other than the Beretta in the service and always have recommended Glocks to others...then I shot a Walther PPQ...the pistol shot awesome and felt even better in my hands, but I rationalized that I should just stick with the Glock as that's what I carry for work and personally own 3 others and have all my gear (holsters/mags) based on the Glock platform.
Greg helped me get off the X in my thinking and I'm carrying off duty the Walther as it just fits me best and operates similarly to my Glock (no external safety other than in trigger).
