ok so obviously if we do get a top 3 pick it opens up our options. and we can go down that rabbit hole (top 3 pick + sign and trade Jrue for PG/Hayward/whomever big named player) but where would that leave us in terms of our guards?
again I understand not wanting to sign Jrue to a max contract but to compete in this league we need guards. and of our options at the moment Jrue is one of the best/most attainable guards for us (better than KCP, Korver, JJ Redick, and I'd even say Jeff Teague)
thats why at least in the scenario I originally posted about taking Ball, and re-signing Jrue.
Now going a little further than my original post, I would say we would have limited cap left after resigning Jrue so we could only go after a mid-level guard (Dion Waiters, Tim Hardaway, or Shabazz) and/or resign Casspi. It seems more realistic than getting 3 superstars and having to place Tim Frazier and Cunningham into the starting roles
