Talked with one of the Canon engineers last year. He said refurbished are better than new because the cameras are completely taken apart, inspected, rebuilt by hand and tested by three different quality control managers before being repackaged for resale. He said if a refurbished has problems it's noted on the records of the staff that performed the QC checks. Too many, or if a pattern develops, and that person will be reassigned or terminated. Good to know. Canon usually has some great refurbished deals.
