I know a bunch of guys in construction & landscaping - the Mexicans that work for them get $10 an hour, some as much as $15 - that's about what they'd pay an American citizen

but the small business owners still wind up getting a financial break on their labor because they don't pay their share of the matching FICO taxes, so just over 75 cents an hour per employee

the big problem I have with them being here illegally is that they do not contribute financially to the system, but they do wind up receiving the benefits & that puts a strain on all of us, especially long term

It's a lot more than FICO taxes. Ever hear about worker's comp, or benefits? Hell, vacation pay, even. Small business owners need help, but any small business owner found hiring illegals, either directly or indirectly, need to have their license suspended and be fined.
