StubHub actually throws the fee on the seller, not the buyer, so a $8 ticket only nets the seller a bit over $7. I forget the percentage, but when I sell on there I sometimes set the price as a dollar over the face to recoup that.

One other thing is that last year the LSU tix site wouldn't let me select and set for sale tix to the StubHub portal when I was on mobile, so several times if I knew I was going to be out and about and wasn't sure if I was going to use my tickets I'd put them up for sale at an absurd price and once I knew whether or not I was going I would either delist them or bring the price back down via stubhub app. No idea if that's what these folk are doing though.

In short, don't pay prices that are absurd. There will almost always be people selling outside or even SRO

StubHub charges a fee on both the seller and buyer.

For the seller it's a flat 10% of ticket price charged.

For the buyer it's a dollar amount between $4 & $10 based on the ticket price.

I've bought tickets this season and then sold my grandstand tickets that I'm not using so I've experienced the fees added on both sides of the exchange.

Meh, I like knowing where I'll be sitting. I don't find the prices on StubHub or the SH fees to be unreasonable or absurd.
